I am a lifelong learner, educator, and competitor who reached great success in the roping arena despite having started with low confidence, limited resources and limited time. For the past several years I’ve been an avid student of sports psychology and mental performance techniques, reading book after book, overdosing on podcasts, videos, and completing online courses. Armed with this knowledge and proven mental performance strategies, I was able to successfully execute under the highest pressure: with 174K riding on one last run at the World Series of Team Roping Finale in Las Vegas.
And now as a certified mental performance coach, I'm sharing these proven techniques and tools with my students.

I know that my high school and especially my college rodeo experience would have been VASTLY different, had I any idea of how to perform mentally. During practice, I could perform as well if not better than the other girls, but in competition, I fell short, time and again. I lacked confidence and competed with the fear of messing up always in the back of my mind. My hope for them and anyone reading this is that with a toolkit of mental performance strategies, they won’t have to wait like I did, until they’re in their 40’s or 50’s to reach peak performance. I was a horse crazy girl growing up in a suburban neighborhood of St. Paul, Minnesota, riding my bike around barrels (buckets) in the street and collecting change in a can to buy my own horse. My dad was a city boy turned calf roper and steer wrestler who took me along to his rodeos where I got hooked on the excitement and the cowboy atmosphere. He naturally had this amazing confidence and mental strength which led him to several state championships. One would think that having him as a role model, I would have developed a similar mindset. However, I am embarrassed to recall how in high school I was a pouty hothead when I didn't win, and later in college the pressure got to me and I was not a huge success. It wasn't until I was in my 40's when I decided I wanted to get serious about team roping, that I began to work on my mental game. I was determined to figure out how to get past mistakes and the fear of failure, so that I could enjoy the sport and experience the freedom of competing with confidence. In 2017, I began to ravenously consume anything I could find related to sports psychology, mindset and mental performance. I read and listened to books, blogs, podcasts, videos, and took online courses. Through trial and error I developed the pre-performance routines, visualization strategies, and confidence building exercises that transformed my mindset and took me to the pay window time and again.
My goal now as a certified mental performance coach is to reach those who may be stuck where I was, unsure of their abilities, limited on time and resources, but passionate about improving their game. I am passionate about the exciting, growing world of mental performance training and making a difference in my students' lives. I’m here to get you started right away with actionable steps that will change the way you practice and compete.
I am a lifelong learner, educator, and competitor who reached huge success in the roping arena despite having struggled with low confidence, limited resources and limited time. For the past 6 years I’ve been an avid student of sports psychology and mental performance techniques, reading just about every book out there, overdosing on podcasts, videos, and completing online courses, all on my own. I’ve gone from a competitor with zero confidence who most often choked under pressure, to successfully executing under the highest pressure imaginable, with 174K riding on one last run at the World Series of Team Roping Finale in Las Vegas.

I am blessed to live in beautiful Eagle County, Colorado. In addition to riding horses and team roping, I also enjoy camping and hiking with my husband and our dog, Luna, and going for rides in the side by side. Most of the photos on my website are of my beloved nieces and nephews, who are my inspiration for teaching the mental game.
